Research Support

Research plays an important role in graduate and undergraduate education and is a critical feature for the development of new scientists.  To support our research efforts, the Chemistry department maintains a full-time stockroom.  University supported offices for Safety, Information Services, and the Library are also critical to our efforts.

The Chemistry department houses and maintains a variety of state-of-the-art instrumentation.  Student researchers, both graduate and undergraduate, are strongly encouraged to become fully trained independent users of the instrumentation necessary for their research projects.  Instrument specialists who teach courses, train users, maintain equipment, and collaborate with researchers are available to help design and implement experiments.  Chemistry department members also benefit from access to a number of other instruments and facilities across other departments, programs and institutes on both the Main and Medical School campuses.
