Congratulations to Prof. Richard Weiss, who is this year’s recipient of the Hillebrand Prize from the Chemical Society of Washington (CSW).  Named for William F. Hillebrand (1853-1925), one of Washington’s most distinguished chemists, the Hillebrand Prize is given annually to one CSW member.

Prof. Weiss’s prize is given “In recognition of his contributions to an understanding of the relationship between structure, function and the chemical and photophysical properties of polymers and gels, as well as their applications, and of the impact he had on generations of students and fellow researchers (both here and around the globe) in the course of his more than fifty years as an academic scholar.”
