This year’s Discovery! Summit was held on March 28th and was a great success with a wonderful turnout of excited, enthusiastic people. The Summit, an event organized by the student group GUMSHOE (Georgetown University Math Science Hands-On Enrichment), had around 100 participants from K-12 DCPS Schools all around the DC area. The kids participated in hands-on activities related to the STEM field with professors from the Human Biology, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics Departments. Activities included elephant toothpaste, frog dissections, magnet racing, and much more! There were around 40 total GU volunteers, ranging from professors, faculty, and Georgetown undergraduate students.

Undergraduate volunteers from the Chemistry Club guided visitors though chemistry experiments in the labs while Chemistry professor Diana Glick provided hands on demonstrations.
