At the 2022 Undergraduate Research Conference, three students in the Chemistry Department presented posters. Seniors Chloe Kekedjian (Chemistry major), Rachel Palmer (Biochemistry major), and Julia Alvey (Chemistry minor) shared their honors research with their fellow undergraduates. Chloe works in Dr. Stoll’s Lab, where she studies water exchange mechanisms in manganese-iron clusters for potential use in new MRI contrast dyes. Rachel works in Dr. Wolf’s Lab, where she performs carbon-fluorine functionalization using lithium iodide. Julia works in Dr. Braselmann’s Lab, where she studies localization behavior of the NORAD lncRNA in response to DNA damage. In addition, Rachel served on the URC committee as the Chemistry Department representative, and Chloe gave one of three oral presentations for which she won the Outstanding Oral Presenter award. Congratulations to all presenters!
